Coilovers

Like most custom aftermarket parts, suspension systems give you benefits both in looks and performance. Coilovers are one example of a relatively simple addition you can do to your suspension to make it look cool and perform better. What Are Coilovers?

Since suspension systems have so many different parts, a lot of people get confused as to what exactly is what. Coilovers are basically adjustable springs (also called “coils”) that fit over your stock of aftermarket shocks. The benefit of using coilovers is that most aftermarket coilover sets are adjustable, giving you the ability to customize your ride in ways you couldn’t before.

Coilovers allow you to raise or lower your car by adjusting the springs up and down on the strut. This means that you can totally change the look of your car simply by adjusting your coilovers. If you want a lowrider look for a show or a particular weekend, no problem. You can always raise it back up again for your daily driving.

By adjusting your coilovers, you also change the dampening effect of the shocks. This means you can adjust the shocks for different types of driving or racing. Coilovers are a great idea if you’re serious about your car and you want some flexibility (no pun intended) in your suspension system.
